Our U18 team losed the cup game at Steve Claridge acadmey very unlucky with 0-1.
We started with a very good chance, but it was cleared by a very hard but fair tackling on a very bad pitch and that showed us, that there was no chance to win this game by playing technical but by playing hard and aggressive. But unluckily we couldn’t accept this fight good enough to win this game.
Chance for redemption
After a hard fought clash against Chalfont Wasps Reserves when Ryan Campbell (2) and Mohamed Mohamed scored in the 3:5 loss, the team went out of the Middlesex Intermediate Cup against Spartan Youths. On this matchday the Rangers have a chance of redemption against the Virginia Water Reserves.
The Pavilion/Crown Road. Total dead loss. Probably the best way to describe the performance of the defense in the 1:5 loss against Spartan Youths where three (!) out of five goals were because of a penalty. Campbell scored the consolation goal for the Rangers in that disappointing match.
But the team needs to keep their head up for tomorrow’s match in the Hellenic League against Virginia Water Reserves, currently on the second spot in the table. The opponents are out of the Intermediate Cup as well after a bitter 3:4 loss against Ashtead. The two goals from Seymour and a strike from Samyint couldn’t prevent an underwhelming result.
With 16 points out of 10 games (5W 1D 4L) the team is battling with Abingdon Town (16 pts.) for the championship this year and won 4:1 earlier this season against the Rangers.
Virginia is a bit out of form at the moment, despite a 3:0 against Stokenchurch they lost 0:4 against Abingdon and 0:1 against Thame Rangers Development and are out of the cup. The team with top goalscorer Sam Devoil (4 goals) will be motivated to get three points to not lose the connection to the top of the table.
The Virginia Water Reserves with captain Luke Sterling will face the London Rangers FC on Saturday on their homeground Crown Road.
Kick-off is at 2.15pm.
